McALESTER LADY BUFFS FASTPITCH SOFTBALL
Coach: TRENT HOMER
6-22
McAlester expects a major step forward in 2026 with its entire roster back and another offseason of growth behind it. Homer says their expectations are to “continue improving every day, compete at a high level, and put ourselves in a position to be successful when the postseason arrives,” and he believes their returning experience can help the program “take the next step.” The Buffs had no seniors last year, so every player returns with significant varsity time, and Homer points to their work ethic, confidence, leadership and understanding of what it takes to compete as the foundation for a deeper postseason push.
He highlights experience, defense and chemistry as key strengths, noting that many players have logged high‑leverage innings and that upperclassmen such as Rylan Lesnau, Emmy Hollis and Bailey Caldwell lead by example through consistency and accountability. McAlester is intentionally building a culture of hard work, accountability, discipline and respect, with an emphasis on being great teammates and representing the school and community the right way on and off the field. Second baseman Katy Ivy started every game as a sophomore and continues to round out her game, and Addyson Pennington has worked into a player the staff expects to make a significant impact. Homer praises the group’s character and the countless hours they invest away from game day, believing that commitment gives them a chance to “accomplish some special things” as they chase championships and a deep playoff run.
