Coach: William Holiman
20-21 Record: 2-16
Featuring one of the top players in the state, the McAlester Buffaloes are eager to take the court for a full season of varsity basketball under the watchful eyes and demands of head coach William Holiman. Anytime the Buffs take the court, opponents will need to know where is Adante’ Holiman (6-0, Sr.), a repeat VYPE Top 100 selection who recently linked a college scholarship with the University of Texas-Rio Grande. The four-year starter begins his senior season ready to expand on his contributions to the final score after leading Class 5A scoring last season by averaging 31.0 points per contest while dishing out 5-plus assists and grabbing 5.1 rebounds per game. The big man in the paint, Eythan Lenardo (6-5, Sr.) is back after adding 6.0 points and 5.0 rebounds last season. The play of Lenardo on both ends of the floor will be a key factor for McAlester this season. Shooting guard Adonis Holiman (So.) is already making a name for himself along with Bryson Martin (Sr.), Ladell Walker (Sr.) and Christion Woods (Sr.). The Buffs will also expect results from Jake Forehand (5-8, Jr.) who totaled 3.0 points per game plus 3.0 assists at his guard position while combo player Evan Black (6-3, Jr.), who chipped in 4.0 points and rebounds in 2021 returns to increase the productivity potential on offense and defense. Coach Holiman’s roster will include Garrett Pickett (6-4, So.) who Holiman says has tremendous potential to enhance the Buffaloes chances for victory in 2021-22.
