Record: 8-13
OUTLOOK
The McAlester Lady Buffaloes are entering the 2025-26 season with renewed energy and a youthful core under sixth-year head coach Kourtnee Beshears, who sees great promise in this growing group of athletes. With a roster loaded with underclassmen, the Lady Buffs are building a foundation for long-term success.
“We are a young, talented team with tremendous potential,” said Beshears. “We’re excited to see each player grow and make an impact, contributing in their own unique way and through their individual role on the team.”
At the center of McAlester’s success this season is junior Rylan Lesnau (Jr., PF), an emotional leader on and off the floor. “Rylan gives her all to every aspect of the game,” said Beshears. “She leads by example, showing that with hard work, success is always within reach. She brings positivity when it’s needed most, while also holding herself and her teammates to high standards. Rylan pushes those around her to be their best, all while embracing a growth mindset and striving each day to become the best version of herself.”
The Lady Buffs’ roster features a strong junior class, including Kambree Zummer (Jr., PG), Taylor Williams (Jr., C), and Lesnau, all expected to provide leadership and experience. The sophomore group adds depth and versatility with Katy Ivy, Kali Burow, Kelsie Rowell, Kayly Autrey, and Abbie Parham. Burow, this year’s Character Counts Athlete, sets the tone for McAlester’s team culture. “Kali embodies what it means to be a program kid—she shows up, works hard, and leads by example, making everyone around her better,” Beshears said. “She demonstrates toughness, loyalty, integrity, resilience, respect, empathy, and courage—qualities that define not only her but the culture we strive to build every day.”
A promising freshman bunch brings fresh energy to the program. Mylah Cole (PF) stands out in her class. “Mylah is a rising talent with the potential to become a key player this season and beyond,” said Beshears. “Even at a young age, she has shown tremendous dedication through her offseason work and commitment to growth.”
Rounding out the roster are Parker Cochran, Emma Case, Chloe Boatright, Kennedy Earhart, Tenley Morgan, Darlene Needham, and Mylee Crouch, each contributing to a deep, competitive lineup.
