McAlester’s Ambree House – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Kennedy Eyecare

McAlester High School boasts an exceptional softball talent in Ambree House, a name that resonates with passion, dedication and the relentless pursuit of excellence on the softball field. With an illustrious career and being an All-Vype nominee, Ambree has become a standout player and a source of inspiration for her team and coaches.

When asked about her favorite coaches, Ambree mentioned two influential figures in her softball journey. “Coach Barnoski helped me improve in the game physically and mentally,” she said. “Coach Mitchell helped me with being confident and teaching me life lessons relating to softball.”

In sports, teammates can become a second family. Ambree has been fortunate to have teammates who supported her, such as Charlee Medley, Mileigh Needham, Kardin Murphy and Callie Boren.

For Ambree, it’s not just her coaches who have played a pivotal role in her life; it’s also her teachers. Mr. Lloyd Belt’s support of her athletic endeavors has been a source of motivation, and Mrs. Lesia Littlepage’s kindness and warm hugs have left a lasting impact.

As any dedicated athlete knows, success on the field requires relentless preparation. Ambree’s offseason regimen includes daily workouts and consistent batting practice with her dad, along with participation in travel ball for Epic National 2026.

Softball, like life, is filled with successes and failures. Ambree has embraced this reality: “In softball, you’re going to fail more times than you succeed. But use the motivation of failing to work hard and strive for excellence.”

This season, Ambree is determined to be a strong leader for her team, supporting them in every way possible. On a personal level, her goal is unwavering: to give 100%, no matter the circumstances.

With her eyes set on the future, Ambree’s aspirations extend to playing Division I softball.

With the determination she exhibits on the field and the skills she has honed over the years, Ambree House is poised to make her mark in the world of softball.
