2021 McAlester Softball Schedules and Results
The Buffaloes of McAlester High School will want to prove a lot of people wrong on the softball field in the 2021 season. Multiple players return with a lot of experience will only help this team get more W’s in the win column. Head coach Kelleya Cox has high expectations for her players, including Stevie Stinchcomb.
“Stevie is a great leader on and off the field. She encourages her teammates to be the best they can be,” Cox said. Stinchcomb is expected to do a lot of different things for this team, using her natural ability to lead as the catapult to help this team to victory.
Casey Woods is also a player that coach Cox expects to show improvement after working hard and dedicating herself to her sport during the off-season. Being an underclassman doesn’t usually bring expectations to be successful, but coach Cox believes she can lead this team despite her age. Madison Ayers is the team’s jack-of-all-trades player, meaning she is the player that will do all the little things to help her team win and expect little to no recognition for it, but coach Cox wants to make sure she gets the recognition she deserves.
Other players to watch include Allison Bond and Kynli Jones. Both are expected to play key roles this season. With players like this on her roster, coach Cox believes 2021 will show significant improvement when it comes to her team.
