McAlester’s Ti’Heiress Davis – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Patriot Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of McAlester

On McAlester High School’s basketball court, Ti’Heiress Davis stands as a testament to the transformative power of work ethic and grit. Guided by the triumvirate of Dalante Redway, Lashonda Green and Will Holiman, Ti’Heiress reflected on their influence: “They constantly pushed me to be the best player I could possibly be.” Their collective impact extends beyond the game, molding her into a player of resilience and continuous improvement.

Amidst the fast-paced rhythm of the court, Ti’Heiress finds a steady ally in Jada Ponce. “Jada Ponce has always had my back on and off the court. She always helps me stay mentally ready during games,” Ti’Heiress noted, emphasizing the invaluable role of camaraderie in navigating the challenges of competitive play. Together, they form a dynamic partnership, their connection stretching beyond the painted lines of the basketball court.

As the anticipation builds for the upcoming season, Ti’Heiress delves into her preparation routine: “I practice dribbling and defensive drills.” These foundational drills underscore the dedication and discipline woven into her training regimen, essential components of her goal for excellence on the court.

Beyond the physical drills, basketball imparts profound life lessons. “It has taught me to be mentally tough and how to react when things don’t go my way,” Ti’Heiress reflected. The sport becomes a crucible of resilience, forging a mindset that extends beyond the buzzer-beaters and fast breaks.

Among her basketball memories, one stands out prominently for Ti’Heiress: “My favorite memory of basketball was starting on varsity as a freshman.”

With the upcoming season on the horizon, Ti’Heiress speaks on her hopes and aspirations: “I hope that I can get as many wins as possible and make it to the state tournament.”

Looking ahead to specific matchups, one opponent stands out in Ti’Heiress’s anticipation: “I want to play against Sapulpa again.” The desire for a rematch underscores the competitive spirit that propels her, seeking challenges that elevate her game and the team’s performance.

While the basketball court remains a current focal point, Ti’Heiress envisions a future beyond high school: “I plan on going to college, get a medical degree and be either a trauma surgeon or an anesthesiologist.”
